Report: Will COVID-19 spark a data revolution in drug discovery?
The urgency of COVID research exposed vulnerabilities and opportunities available in the pharmaceutical industry. With so much data available, those able to organise, link and interpret it have taken the lead.
Download our industry view report where we hear from Joe Donahue, Managing Director for Life Sciences at Accenture, and Juergen Harter, CEO of the CCDC on how data handling should change drug discovery and development for better in the future.
Classifying metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for search and screening
Although the term MOF was only coined in 1995, they have already erupted as a class of materials, both in the number of structures and applications reported. Read Seth Wiggin's blog to learn more about the importance and classification of MOFs. Read more
Pharmacophore-based search - generating new ideas in drug discovery
Generating new ideas or looking at protein-ligand interactions in a novel way is key to innovative drug discovery and design. This blog explores pharmacophores, their role in drug discovery, and how to perform a pharmacophore-based search. Read more
CCDC renewed partnership with University of Cambridge
We are delighted to announce that we have renewed our partnership with the University of Cambridge as a University Partner Institute. This agreement means the CCDC will continue receiving and supporting graduate students with their studies and research in collaboration with the University of Cambridge. Read more

This is our last user group meeting for 2020, therefore you can expect some exciting news about what to expect in 2021!
Theme: Rethinking the future of in silico science
Confirmed Speakers:
Chris Radoux, Exscientia
Elena Besley, Nottingham University
John Liebeschuetz, Astex
Alice Brink, University of the Free State in South Africa
This activity will introduce budding scientists of 8 years+ to crystallisation. Solid crystals start as very tiny crystal nuclei, which then grow!
In this activity we will learn about the solution from which the nuclei are created and about crystallisation, with hands-on activities and a video of rapid nucleation, while discovering examples of crystallisation that are around us.
At the end of this activity, don’t forget to collect your reward!
Chat with us and share your pictures from each activity on social media, using the hashtag #CCDCHomeLearning and the tag @ccdc.cambridge on Facebook, @ccdc_cambridge on Twitter, and @ccdc_cambridge on Instagram.
If you'd like to contribute your stories or research to our monthly newsletter, please don't hesitate to get in touch at hello@ccdc.cam.ac.uk.
